Dr. Antonio Gamboa is Curana Health Medical Group’s Chief Growth and Innovation Officer. In this position, Dr. Gamboa leads our organization on our mission to improve the health, happiness, and dignity of senior living residents. Dr. Gamboa is responsible for helping guide the direction and strategy of Curana Health, so the organization meets our goals in our transition from traditional fee-for-service to value-based care. Additionally, he serves as the key internal and external-facing leader of the Curana Health Medical Group team, and he works to help establish a proud company culture.
Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Dr. Gamboa later attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. In 2001, he completed his medical school studies at the University of Texas at Galveston, then left Texas to complete his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2015, he returned to the University of Texas at Austin to complete his Executive Master of Business Administration.
In 2009, Dr. Gamboa became an established hospitalist in Texas, where he met Dr. Paula Requeijo. Together, they established our legacy company Elite Patient Care in 2010, which would later lead to the formation of Curana Health.
Dr. Gamboa is happily married to his wife Julie. Together, they are passionate about raising their three children. In his free time, Dr. Gamboa enjoys spending time with his family as they play sports, attend Austin FC games, go “glamping,” and attend music festivals. They also enjoy spending time on the beaches of South Carolina with their friends and family.
