Dr. Shirlene Moten serves Curana Health’s Regional Medical Director, Northeast Division. She attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed her residency at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Family Practice in Verona.

She then went to UPMC St Margaret’s Memorial Hospital where she completed a fellowship in academic family medicine. While there, she obtained her master’s degree in public health at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health. Upon completion, she stayed on as one of five residency program directors and developed the Department of Community Medicine, which oversaw community medicine rotations for the interns and residents, and cared for the most vulnerable populations in Pittsburgh.

Her background also includes serving as a CEO and medical director over a traditional family medicine practice for more than 20 years. She subsequently moved back to New Jersey, where she served as the medical director for a large multi-specialty practice, and later returned to UPMC as regional medical director over a large primary care group.

With a passion for value-based care, Dr. Moten is passionate about Curana Health’s mission to improve the health, happiness, and dignity of senior living residents.
