Interoperability and Patient Access final rule (CMS-9115-F) and
the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology's (ONC's) 21st Century Cures Act final rule (45 CFR 170.213 and 170.215) support a patient's control of their health care and secure access to their electronic health records through smartphones and modern third-party software applications (“apps”). Patients will be able to use “apps” of their choice and with consent, authorize and allow the “apps” to request and receive data from their Payer.
In support of the final rules, Curana Health has created the Interoperability APIs . Curana Interoperability APIs enables client Medicare Advantage members to use “apps” of their choice to access their data. It also allows “apps” to connect to provider and pharmacy directories, further referred to as “public non-member specific data.”
